Agricultural Venture – Indel Corporation
Indel Plantation is the heritage agricultural venture of Indel Corporation,
centred around the historic Ladrum Estate, an English-era plantation
established in 1892 by Sir Walter Graham.
Spanning approximately 1,200 acres of lush plantation land, the estate
encompasses extensive tea and cardamom plantations, along with the cultivation
of other select spices. With a legacy extending over 130 years, Ladrum Estate
represents a remarkable continuity of plantation agriculture, traditional
craftsmanship and responsible land stewardship in the high ranges of Kerala.
At the heart of this heritage is the estate's historic Orthodox Tea Factory —
one of the last remaining Orthodox Tea Factories in South India. Together with
its expansive tea gardens, cardamom plantations and traditional estate
landscape, the factory provides a living connection to the origins of Ladrum
Estate and South India's historic plantation culture.
By blending time-honoured cultivation practices with modern agricultural
management, Indel Plantation focuses on preserving soil health, enhancing crop
quality and productivity, conserving natural resources and maintaining
environmental balance.
Today, Indel Plantation stands as both a heritage agricultural enterprise and a
stable long-term asset, aligned with Indel Corporation's philosophy of
diversified and sustainable value creation.
